HUB - IUP Computer Wireless Access
For authorized users only

Wireless access in the HUB is available through the IUP VPN
(Virtual Private Network)

Hadley Union Building currently has two *Cisco Aironet® 1200 Series
wireless access points installed.  This will allow wireless access throughout
most of the HUB and in some locations outside of the building.

Wireless Networking gives IUP laptop users advanced mobility.  With Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) support and extended roaming, users may move from building to building or across IP subnets without losing their connections where access points are available.

Users must log in to an IUPMSD, IUPMSD1 or IUPMSD2 account to use the
IUP VPN, there is no need to obtain a static ip address or sign a network agreement because your log in is your identification.

*Cisco Aironet® 1200 Series 802.11b 2.4 GHz radio with 100-mW maximum transmit power and 85-dBm receive sensitivity provides data rates up to
11 Mbps and three non-overlapping channels to support widely deployed 802.11b clients.

LAN / VPN jacks are available in the lounge areas and meeting rooms.

The top left jack is normally wired for LAN users with a HUB ip address.

The bottom left jack is normally wired for IUP VPN users.  Electric plugs are available near many jacks.

Students may obtain assistance from Student Technology Services Center to
set up an IUP VPN connection to vpn.iup.edu.

You must use your IUP login in name and password to connect.

Note: If you have technical experience use the online help available with your operating system to install and configure your vpn client.  Input vpn.iup.edu

Staff and Faculty with university laptops must see their technology representative to setup an IUP VPN (Virtual Private Network connection to vpn.iup.edu.)  They can also show you how to login.  Please use your IUP
login name and password to connect.

Advice: If you are planning a presentation please test your laptop at our facilities at least 24 hours in advance.
