Who We Are

The Student Cooperative Association was organized in 1933 to collect and control the student activity fees as well as supervise the Cooperative Bookstore. The organization of the Co-op Association is very broad and allows for just about any service that is in need by students to be provided. Some of the major functions of the Co-op have been to provide financial assistance for extracurricular activities, maintain recreational and service facilities as well as operate the campus store.

The Co-op Association maintains the Hadley Union Building (HUB) which contains several meeting rooms with audio/visual technology, a state of the art fitness center, gymnasium with suspended running track, and a computer lab with a separate group study room. Also maintained by the Co-op is the 280 acre Co-op Recreational Park, where students can participate in just about any outdoor activity they can think of.

The Student Cooperative Association has been in existence to serve the students and has continued to grow since its inception to meet the growing needs of the students, faculty, and staff of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The annual student activities budget has grown to well over $6 million and the sales of the Co-op Store have grown to more than $8 million, with much of this money benefiting students at IUP.
