WHAT ARE CAMPUS RECREATION SERVICES? Campus Recreation Services are facilities and programs run by students and staff of the Student Co-op at Indiana University of Pennsylvania to provide recreational opportunities to any student, faculty or staff with a valid I-Card. CAMPUS RECREATION Campus Recreation Services has been established to offer a broad based recreational program for the IUP Community so that individuals may choose from a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities here at IUP. Reflecting the increasing interest in outdoor activity, the Campus Recreation Services office sponsors workshops and clinics for outdoor pursuits throughout the school year. We offer a wide variety of these programs in such areas as sailing, canoeing, first aid, CPR and sports such as golf. These programs serve to familiarize the IUP Community with the equipment and skills necessary to enjoy these respective areas of outdoor recreation. The dates for these clinics and workshops can be found by calling the Recreation Center at (724) 357-2590. However, The Campus Recreation Services office is more than willing to schedule, such as, an event at the request of a residence hall group or other recognized campus group. Campus Recreation Services takes advantage of IUP's unique facilities and location to offer a comprehensive program of outdoor activities. Our staff has a cadre of qualified instructors and trip leaders, while the Co-op Recreational Park and Sailing Base provide local facilities for backpacking, camping, sledding, sailing, golfing and canoeing. These facilities are available for the use of the IUP Community at little or no cost. |
