Smart Card!

With your new I-Card you can take advantage
of the Smart Chip, and a host of other conveniences. The Smart Chip, a
feature only offered on the new I-Card allows you to place cash on your card
through cash-to-card machines on campus. You can activate your Smart Chip by
placing up to $99 maximum and your I-Card in a cash-to-card machine. You can
then use your I-Card to pay for services and small purchases on campus --
copying (in the library), vending, laundry, and other small dollar purchases at the Co-op Store and
Computers and More. You can place more cash on your Smart Chip when your
balance gets low. The Smart Chip is an off-line electronic system -- IUP has
no record of your purchases or balance. If you lose your card, or if it is
damaged to the point where it is no longer readable, the University cannot
reimburse you for the balance on your Smart Chip. It's like losing cash.
