HUB - IUP Computer Wireless Access


 

Wireless access in the HUB is available through the IUP VPN (Virtual Private Network)

Hadley Union Building currently has two *Cisco Aironet® 1200 Series wireless access points installed.  This will allow wireless access throughout most of the HUB and in some locations outside of the building.

Wireless Networking gives IUP laptop users advanced mobility.  With Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) support and extended roaming, users may move from building to building or across IP subnets without losing their connections where access points are available..

Users must log in to an IUPMSD, IUPMSD1 or IUPMSD2 account to use the IUP VPN, there is no need to obtain a static ip address or sign a network agreement because your log in is your identification.

*Cisco Aironet® 1200 Series 802.11b 2.4 GHz radio with 100-mW maximum transmit power and 85-dBm receive sensitivity provides data rates up to 11 Mbps and three non-overlapping channels to support widely deployed 802.11b clients.
