Yellow Creek State Park - IUP Sailing Base

Approximately 12 miles from campus at Yellow Creek State Park, the IUP Sailing Base offers I-Card holders opportunities for sailing, windsurfing and canoeing and nautical crafts, during warmer weather. 

Campus Recreation Services also offers Picnic Pavilions, Sand Volleyball and Swimming at the Sailing Base.

Campus Recreation has made an agreement with Yellow Creek State Park officials to enable IUP valid icard holders to receive a 5% discount on boat rentals at the beautiful 720 acre lake.

Yellow Creek State Park, with over 3,140 acres,  is located in Indiana County along one of the first "highways" in the state, the Kittanning Path. This trail was used by the Delaware and Shawnee nations and by early settlers. 

Directions:

Yellow Creek Location MapFrom Indiana, PA take PA Route 422 and travel 12 miles east. From Ebensburg, PA travel 18 miles west on Route 422 to PA Route 259 South. Follow Route 259 to park entrance. From Johnstown take PA Route 56 West to Brush Valley then Route 259 North to the Park. From Pittsburgh, take PA Route 22 East to PA Route 119 North to PA Route 422 East. Travel on Route 422 12 miles to PA Route 259 South. Turn right to park entrance.
